Rats, Bamboo & Flu (Hey it rimes - sort of)

  • While this is a major problem now the real problem starts when the bamboo flowering period ends and we face an enormous starving rat population. Given that all this is going on near the India / Bangladesh boarder and rat will happily eat dead birds one has to hope rats are not an efficient H5N1 host.

    I read an article from a couple of years ago that the Japanese were concerned about rats.
